AABRS® is committed to making its website accessible to as many people as possible, including those who rely on assistive technology or have difficulty using standard web features. This statement explains the standard we aim to meet, where we currently fall short, and how to tell us about any problem you encounter.
The Standard We Aim to Meet
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the international benchmark for accessible web content published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines ask that content is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.
How We Are Doing Against It
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. “Partially conformant” means that most of the site meets the standard, but some parts do not yet fully comply. We are working to close the gaps below, and accessibility is a factor in how we build and update pages.
Areas we know need improvement include:
- Colour contrast: some text and links shown in our brand orange on a white or light background, including parts of the main navigation, do not yet meet the AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1.
- Skip to content: the site does not yet provide a “skip to main content” link to help keyboard and screen-reader users bypass the navigation.
- Links without text: a small number of icon and image links do not yet carry descriptive text for screen readers.
- Older images: most images have appropriate alternative text, but some older images may be missing it.
This assessment is based on automated testing carried out in July 2026. We have not yet completed a full manual audit, including keyboard-only and screen-reader testing, and we will update this statement as we do.
